Kodak Brownie 127 Camera
(1953-59) Click to enlarge |
This Brownie was made in England and has a rounded bakelite body. It has an eye-level rangefinder and simple shutter with Kodet lens. Uses type 127 roll films and has a collector's value of $5-$15 depending upon condition. The twin to this camera is the Brownie Starlet made in 1956 by Kodak, Ltd. of London. An identical camera was also manufactured in Australia about the same time and is identified as such. The Australian cameras are identical to the ones made in England with exception to the faceplate designation and manufacturer location. Collector's value (either camera): $5+/-. Another camera that was styled after the Brownie 127 is the Brownie Cresta made between 1955-58. It's a bit larger and not as rounded as the 127 model and uses the larger type 120 roll films. It has a eye-level rangefinder and simple shutter with Kodet lens like the other 127 models. Collector's value: $5-$15. |
