Telephoto Cycle Poco Camera
(1891)
Made by Rochester Camera Mfg. Company, this 4x5 folding camera used film plates and came in either double or triple extension red leather bellows. It came equipped with a B&L lens in either Victor or Auto shutter. Over the next ten years there would be some name changing and company merging, one in particular with Monroe (the Ray camera) and Western Camera Mfg. Company of Chicago (Cyclone cameras). They became known as the Rochester Optical and Camera Co. in 1899 and retained most all the original products: Poco, Premo, Cyclone, and Ray cameras. George Eastman purchased the company in 1903 and shortened the name to Rochester Optical Co. Not long after 1917 the Rochester name was dropped and Kodak officially absorbed them. Book value: $150-$225.
